Have you tried these Heavenly Heels? It's awesome! I want to run out and buy a pair for every one of my high heel shoes!

I got these shoes that were a little too big so was looking around at how I could make them fit better and discovered this amazing invention.

The culprit: Cute shoes found on sale at Nordstrom Rack.
The Red snake skin pattern are Jimmy Choo too! I have never seen Jimmy Choo at The Rack.
I didn't need the inserts for those since they fit perfectly but the other two needed some help.

I decided to try the toe and heel inserts on the brown pair just to see how they'll work.

The heel inserts feel awesome! And make the shoes fit perfectly. We'll see if my foot slips out when I try walking in them.

So far, they seem too good to be true, so check back for updates! I'll be wearing them to work tomorrow!

Amazing Wedding!

Earthquake & The Gathering Tank

Hope everyone on the east coast survived the earthquake yesterday! We had a little bit of damage at home but not too bad. Just a few things broke here an there and some pictures out of place but no big deal.

The good news is, the wine did not break! It just slid out of the rack

It was a little crazy in D.C. area. I went to return something at J.crew in tysons after work and it was a ghost town! It looked like some of the SA's were going home too.

I got the Gathering Tank last Tuesday but I guess I forgot to post about it!

Here it is in the green color. I knew I had to have it when I saw it online! Tho, I don't see the green online anymore but you can still get the white, lilac, and turquoise. I'm wearing XS - I would suggest sizing down one size in Deletta tops. the lilac and white, probably need to be worn with a tank top underneath, it's a little sheer.

Love this top! So easy to waer and comfy!

Looking for a dress for a wedding in few weeks, I tried on this new purple dress while in the Tysons Corner J.Crew store today. Not sure what it's called. I don't see it on line. It was light fluffy, probably made of some kind of chiffon. It has a side zip and ties a bow in the back. I tried on size 2, so I think it's running TTS. I tucked in straps here because I think it looks better but its probably meant to be worn with the straps. The purple is just ridiculously beautiful. I wished it was a little more structured, so I'm still deciding.

Here are the things I picked up while in store today....the sa's were nice enough to let me use 20% off even though the coupon says online only. Not only that, they didn't take my code, they just used a 20% barcode from their little book. That means I can order more stuff before next weeks! Eeek!

I Didn't Get to Wear This Sunday

I picked up this dress at South Moon Under last week. I love, love the colors, and the pattern. It's one of those never have to iron dresses so I knew it was perfect for me. I didn't have a chance to wear it over the weekend so what the heck - I thought i'd wear it on a Monday, bare sleeves n' all hahahaha! Corporate dress code? What's that?

I was strolling through Clarendon killing time last week and noticed that Ann Taylor - the regular store had opened, right across from the Ann Taylor Loft which is odd, no? Why go to the more expensive one when the cheaper version is across the way? I went in to the new store and thought WOAH MAN!

I use to do tagalong shopping there when I'd go with my mom during high school and college but always thought - eh someday when I'm an adult. But man, have they upped their game.

As I approach my super duper early thirties, I could totally see myself rocking the items in this store. It's totally age appropriate for mid twenties too. Alot of it now reminds of me of BCBG mixed with JCrew which has sort of been my style.

Super cute, conservative, with a smidge of sexy.

Summer is almost here girls!! It's time to get ready for the cute outfits to come out!! To get myself psyched for spring/summer cuteness I've been trying to eat a little healthier. My friend sent brought this to work one day so I made it at home for lunch today.

This is her exact recipe. It's awesome and the recipe makes a ton!

Quinoa Recipe

I eyeball this, I can't remember the exact measurements; these are rough, but it's not
hard to conjure up. You can add more or less of whatever you desire. It's SOOO good!

At least 1 cup quinoa
Vegetable broth (enough to cook quinoa in)
1 medium size red pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/2 cup feta cheese
A LOT of parsley flakes (maybe about 2 tbsp?)
1 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes (cut into small pieces)
1 Can Chickpeas (Garbanzo beans)
lemon juice of 1 lemon
3 tablespoons of olive oil

Cook Quiona in vegeatble broth (about 40 minutes). Add ingredients together.
Serve Chilled.

I've been cooking like crazy for some reason. Maybe it's the cold wintery weather. I always want to have something warm to eat or maybe I just don't want to run out of food lol! Last weekend I made zucchini bread from mom's recipe on All Recipes but put my own little twist on it.

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups grated zucchini
1 cup chopped salt & pepper pistachios

Directions:

1. Grease and flour two 8 x 4 inch pans. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon together in a bowl.
3. Beat eggs, oil, vanilla, applesauce, and sugar together in a large bowl. Add sifted ingredients to the creamed mixture, and beat well. Stir in zucchini and pistachios until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pans.
4. Bake for 40 to 60 minutes, or until tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack for 20 minutes. Remove bread from pan, and completely cool.

It's soooo good!!!!!! You will definitely enjoy!!!!! :)

New Years Rezzies in Baby Steps

Happy Amazing New Year to Everyone!!!

I have been thinking alot about resolutions and goals. This year, I'm going to attempt to take them a little more seriously. I have a habbit of picking up many hobbies and new things but not really finishing them because of time and what not.

I'm setting 2 month goals to see if I'm commiting to these...

Here goes...

1) Going to Hot Yoga once a week ( I need to start with baby steps people).

Doesnt sound like much but an hour and a half to commit to hot yoga is a lot, lol. I use to go twice and sometimes three times a week but that hasnt happened since june bc we've been busy with wedding planning. If you live in the DC area and havent't tried hot yoga at Down Dog, I highly recommend it! According to the livestrong iphone app, you burn like a thousand calories in one session. I'm not really going to count calories, I like the fact that I can show up and follow what the instructor is doing and in an hour and a half, I've done a full body workout without any thinking! At the end I feel Really good and cleansed! if your looking for relaxing yoga this is not the class for you. My friend who attended once called it military style. Eeeeek. I think that just sounds harsh but it's really great and omg you will be addicted too.

2) Not buying clothes for the sake of a sale.

Seriously, I have a lot of shit. We probably all have too much in our closets!
No one loves the thrill of a sale, or finding the uniqe item that hopefully no one will have, more than me. Sending links to my friends for encouragement to pull the trigger! Bad, Bad,Bad! But as I was reorganizing my closet over Christmas break ( it was right before the container store elfa sale too! Grrr! It's 30% off now! so if you want to reorganize, do it this month!), I just have so much that I still have not worn. And, there were bags and bags of the I THINK I MIGHT need. But guys, I got rid of it! It's retarded and hard, but there are people in this world with no clothes or even a closet, and I'm hording these bags for no reason. So off to good will they went! My friend mentioned something once about only having the things you really love in your wardrobe, so I'm going to give this philosophy a try.

3) Eating better.

I'm nasty when it comes to eating. this morning's episode of TLC's Two Ton Man or whatever it's called really sealed the deal for me. I love donuts and everything that is bad for you. I will eat ice cream and pbj's at 10 o clock at night after a big dinner with no problem. I dindnt diet for my wedding. In fact, I found excuses and ate more in all of the celebratory occasions, lol! It's terrible and I need to be nicer to my body. So my general plan is to use the livestrong app and entering what I eat daily.
Today...I has a veggie omlette for breakfast with potatos, and a handful of almonds, and cold veghie soba noodle salad for dinner with a side of sauteed spinach. It was actually yumm!! I did have a little ramekin of moose trax. just a little one. I'd like to try eating less meat, more fish and veggies? Anyone have good recipes?

I'm going to start with just these three goals to see what I can do. Baby steps I tell you.

What I Scored at Intermix!!

I got these 75% off today!!!!!! It was very odd that they were on super sale already at Intermix since they're still listed at Nordstrom for full price. But regardless, I did not question it. I IMMEDIATELY, purchased these babies!! They were my perfect size too! Crazy!!! Well, they are 38.5 and they fit me perfectly which is even stranger since I normally wear 37.

Happy V-day readers! It's been a good and very much needed long weekend without snow. I started my Valentine's Day with a 90 minute session of hot power yoga at Down Dog Yoga. If you live in the DC area and have not been. You have to go! It isn't your typical yoga class that is for sure. It's a great intensive military style yoga workout! I always feel so refreshed afterwards.

Yayyyyyyy!!!! I have always wanted a kitchen aid mixer! This one happens to be a pretty red color! oOoo so pretty! I can't wait to use it! But it's so pretty that I don't want to use it. Frankly, it's kind of an intimidating piece of machinery. Tho, I did test it with a bowl of water and after turning it on, it runs like a beauty! And, so much quieter than the immersion blender I was using to make cupcakes with last week.

Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen Dies Today

I was so shocked to hear the news this morning (who did I hear it from? My fiance of course! He's very up on the latest news and tweets. I've trained him pretty well with key words of designer names in his little database head). Alexander McQueen committed suicide and was found dead at his London home.

My first thought was it's so sad and then - what happens when a creator of such a well known brand passes? When Versace died, I believe his sister took over the business. In this instance, it's too soon to tell what will happen. It also makes me wonder what could drive such a successful person to just throw in the towel. Was it corporate life? pressure? And two weeks before fashion week! It's just very, very sad. He's inspired so many from fashion designers to
obsessed fashionistas and wana-bes.

McQueen is known for his bold signature style of skulls and zippers.

We've had lots of work from home snow days lately so that means more time to browse and shop online as I please hahaha. Not good. Not good.

So here is yesterday's Gilt Guilt.

Could not resist on this Walter Bead Applique Tweed Coat! So it is called. Originally $378, listed for $78 and I had a $25 credit from one of my friend's purchases! Definitely one of the things I love about Gilt, let me be honest. Hhahaa.

So here is the jacket below. I don't have anything like this so this should be a good addition to my wardrobe.

Yes, I have been M.I.A. Just a little. Okay, maybe a lot!

Here is a quick recap since I last blogged (we know it's been quite some time).

- Shopped like a maniac
- Returned like a maniac
- Threw an awesome DCDB Halloween Event
- Turned 30!
- Got Engaged!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
- Had a family thanksgiving with the entire family (I didn't cook, but I helped)!
It'd been a very long time since we were ALL together. Honestly, I'm okay with it
being that long. lol.
- Went to Michigan. Had a wonderful and pampered trip! My soon to be in laws threw
us an engagement party too!
- Enjoyed a yummy Christmas Eve dinner cooked by my uncle Bill. He's like an iron chef!
- Had a relaxing Christmas.
- Went on our annual post Christmas AC trip with bunch of friends gambling/eating/drinking/hangout.
- Had a nice new years with friends.
- Spent New Years day in Pyjamas!
- Survived yet another AOL Layoff. It was very, very sad. I think this one was the worst for me since I lost so many friends through it. Especially my friend RatsonParade xo :(
- Started planning our wedding! I had no idea it was so involved! Tho, I'm having fun and learning alot!

I thought this top was VERY CUTE when I first saw the Wavelet version over the summer and was so depressed when it sold so quickly! So happy this one was added to the fall/winter collection. The top fits true to size. Material is nice, doesn't look like it'd be too hard to care for. I like the sheer sleeves, makes it super cute an interesting! I usually wear a 2 in tops and it fit just right. Wouldn't have mind having it be a little longer even. Thinking about sizing up or trying the 4 to see if I have more wiggle room hahahah...

With the dropping temperatures in DC these days (I'm from Florida so this IS WINTER), cozy and comfy is where it's at!

This is just a quick polyvore of what I wore to work today. I am so in love with legginggssssss this year!! Especially the leggings from Jcrew I picked up a couple months ago. They are so soft and awesome -- feels like wearing pyjamas! I have washed them so many times already and it' doesnt look like it's fading or anything, and that includes the wears on weekends! It's just so easy. I have literally been wearing leggings like every other day to work. I am sure coworkers are thinking ' does this girl have any other pants?'. LOL. I want to stock up on these babies for fear that JCrew will discontinue them soon. Best part about wearing leggings is that I can eat a lot and not have to worry about my jeans or pants fitting to tight! I'm loving leggings and boots, leggings and boots, leggings and boots, and leggings and boots this year!!!!

Straying Away from the Mothership (JCrew)

I have to admit, I am shopping more and more at Anthro these days. In fact, I have JCrew to thank for allowing me to rediscover Anthropologie, cause I'm loving it (my wallet is not loving it), but yes, I'm so loving Anthro again! I have not shopped there in about two years but just seeing a different look and how they style the clothes is inspiration to remind me that it' doesn't have to be ALL FULL of RUFFLES (especially the catalog sneak peaks i'd seen of what is to be the new november rollout!), and it's okay to mix & match, and have fun without looking rediculous!!! So here are my recent acquisitions (on sale!). I also read something recently, I believe it was on anthroholic that the SA's at Anthro will email and tell their customers exactly what items are going on sale the next morning which is super helpful so you can wake up in time to snipe the right sizes! I wish JCrew would do that. It would be awesome.

Anyhow, here are my recent finds at Anthro...

All Trades Dress (in red) - It's a summer piece but I figure I could throw on some tights boots, cardi, and wear a blouse under it to work it for fall.

Breeze-Blown Blouse - I don't really have anything like this. I love the colors and pattern on this top. Thought this would be a great layering piece.

Iris & Rose Blouse - I have had my eye on this since summer! It's so cute! There are so many colors, it can really go with anything! Another great layering piece for fall! Yippy!

Cinched Voile Tunic (in brown)- I have been pairing this with black tights, brown snakebite belt, creme cardi, and metallic ballet flats. So cute & comfy!

Stained Glass Top - This was not on sale but I just got it a few weeks ago and have already worn it four times (I'm sure my coworkers are sick of seeing it already haha). It's colorful and comfy! It's actually has an asymetrical neckline but the website photo doesnt really show this.

And now...for my most super recent acquisition (drum roll)...

The Lilac Ombre Heels!!! These went so quick in my size and somehow I found them at Anthro in Georgetown last night! It was so meant to be! They are super cute and super comfortable!

Yes, I guess I mostly buy jewelry pieces from JCrew. In fact, I just picked up a new piece last night! The bracelet version of this new necklace they just emailed me about. Oh JCrew, how do you know me so well? hahhahaha I got the rose gold version of this bracelet. It is so beautiful!!!! My receipt says Crystal-and-pearl pastiche. It's basically your all in one pearl, chain, cz intertwined. It's very well made in my opinion (not light and cheap like the crystal garden bracelet.) Doesn't look like the bracelet is online as of yet, but here is a link to the necklace that they sent in my email.

I have been using Origins products for a while now and don't consider myself as someone that has bad skin. But I'm wondering if in the last few years, yes, as I am aging...am I doing the MAX to take care of the skin that I have? I'll admit I'm lazy and its the guilt from not removing makup every night, I'm just not the super high maintenance girl that gets facials monthly and manicures weekly so I thought it might be time to invest in something that is going to help preserve the skin that I have. New Jewelry at my B&M

Stopped at my local B&M on the way home from work today and here are some new pieces of jewelry I saw.

Salesman called this piece ' The Acorn Necklace', tho, I'm not sure if that is the technical name.
This necklace was $55. I tried it on but it was not spectacular. I did not really love anything in this case but thought the one on the far right was VERY Interesting. It is in the style of various baubles but instead, it is a bunch of lockets. Next time I'm in the store I will need to try that on.

Pictured below is the Horseshoe charm necklace, this is actually pretty cute in person. It is $48.00 item 19430. To the right looks like fall version of resin chain necklace similar to spring/early summer tortoise shell pattern chain necklace.

The necklace below looks like another 'statement necklace'. I have not seen this on the website or in catalog.

This case had a very interesting grayish blue ribbon & bauble necklace. It doesn't look like this piece is on the website yet.

Item 16940. One of the shoes I'm planning to pick up on Aug 23rd JCA event! It looks so much better IRL! The website shows two colors in dark slate and dark mushroom. This one seems like a rich gray color to me. I'm wondering if this is a retail store only version? Regardless, I think I'm going for this version. It's soooooooo pretty!

Overall, I thought the jewelry was okay. There wasn't anything I just had to have NOW. :/
I am hoping there will be more interesting pieces coming out soon.

Loooooooooooooove. So much I don't want to wear them at the risk of ruining them. I want them to last forever! Forever I say!

If they had Pebble in my size I would totally buy it. Yes, I'm one of those, if I like something I will buy it in multiple colors if it's available.

Fit: True to Size
Since it's leather it will probably stretch a little.

Leather: Italian Nubuck.
I honestly don't know enough about leather to argue exactly what Nubuck is.
Nor do I care. I just know it's super soft and conforms to my feeties. Oh, it's naiice.

Heel Height: 3.5 inches
Awesome! With this shoe I am 5 foot 6.5!

Style: Vintage feel. Goes with everything! You can't go wrong!

Need some Lyla Peep Toe Help!

Lyla Printed Peep Toes at JCrew

I have been eyeing the Lyla Peep Toes ever since it came out! So last week I finally ordered these pretty little peep pumps. Purchased as FS in Papaya and they arrived punctual,pretty, and as pictured (I think). Okay I will stop.

I had read that they run tight in the toe area but I ordered my usual size since that is what my PS recommended since they seem to run TTS based on my previous order of the Petra Nubuck Pumps. Ordered size 7, check!

Tho, there is something about them that is just not right. I ran through a little check list of what it might be, here is what I've discovered.

1) Size = good.

2) Color = ok good, (pretty close to the picture).

3) Ratio of white blotch to papaya color = not bad (I'm ok with it).

4) Doo hickey grippy thing inside the shoe in heel area? OUCH! WTF is in my shoe? That is the first I have seen on a high heel shoe. I'm not really sure what to think of it. Is it suppose to help? Or is it suppose to hurt? Right now it just hurts! I decided to take a nail file and file it down like I had done on the inside of a pair of my McQueens (don't tell boyfriend you tried to file down your McQueens gals, not a good idea - especially if he bought them). So after I filed down all four of the white grippy strips (yes, JCrew so kindly installed one on each side of the heel, in case we ever felt the need to run a marathon in peep toes, these suckers aren't slipping off!). The shoe seems to feel much better in the heel area now. Feet are happy. Problem solved.

5) This is kind of a big issue for me. The bow is kinda big and hanging, is my bow crooked??? Does it look centered to you? Should it be centered ( I feel like the one on the website has a centered bow)? I took some pictures below to compare. Please tell me what you think! I really liked the shoe when I saw it online but extra large bow was not in the picture. Is that just how the peep toe bows are? Or did I get an extra large floppy bow? Is it too much to ask on a $250USD shoe that my shoe look like the one pictured? Is it not a big deal? Am I obsessing?

Keep or return? Should I trim the bow?
